Festo is the first company in the world to be certified by the German certification organisation TÜV for a compressed air energy-efficiency audit. TÜV Süd has thus certified the manufacturer of pneumatic and electrical automation technology as a qualified supplier of outstanding energy-efficiency consulting services.
The goal of Festo’s Energy Saving Services is to fully exploit potential energy savings in pneumatic systems. Savings of up to 60% on operating costs are possible. Certification involved an evaluation of the methods used for Festo’s Energy Saving Services as a modular service programme. These include a compressed air energy-efficiency audit in accordance with ISO/DIS 11011, the design and implementation of measures targeted at reducing compressed air consumption and measures for safeguarding compressed air savings in the long term.
The compressed air quality energy-efficiency audit encompasses modules for analysing compressed air generation, compressed air consumption, compressed air quality and machine energy efficiency with regard to compressed air usage, as well as leakage detection and elimination. “TÜV certification of Festo’s Energy Saving Services demonstrates that we’re capable of offering globally standardised services for increased compressed air energy-efficiency and high quality energy consultation in accordance with the applicable standards,” explains Sven Lensdorf, Head of Service Management at Festo.
